question can I use this camera as a webcam to my computer with wifi conection or do I still need a capture card and connect via hdmi
I have never tried it. But I think you will need a capture card and connect via HDMI.

If the black magic recorder light doesn't turn on when connected to the computer, does that mean its broke? I have a star tech adapter 2.0m to 3.0m thunderbolt adapter for my 3.0m thunderbolt port. Do you think that would keep the process you explained from working?
Can you share a link for the thunderbolt cable you recommend?
It belonged to the office where I recorded this video at. I didn’t buy it. It’s easily available on amazon.

Thanks for the tutorial! I tried this today and the camera switches to demo mode after 5 minutes. Then I have to disconnect the HDMI cable, and turn the camera off and on again. And again after 5 minutes it goes to demo mode. Is there any way to stop this?
Try This. Go to setup. Then switch off 'CTRL FROM HDMI'
@@Waadee101 I already had that switched off. But, I found out that I had to go to settings and switch off "Power Saving", and "Demo Mode".

back in early video days some used a 1/15th of a second delay line to synch the offset but idk if that even is a thing now.
That’s interesting…could you please explain it in a bit more detail…or direct towards some thing where it is explained…the knowledge of the early video technology needs to be preserved…it was great era….

Better off with a straight 1394 (firewire) feed and windows of Linux and forget the adapter. Thunderbolt sucks.

Hi Saurabh, Excellent thanks very much .Some doubts. Can I live stream an outdoor volleyball match with this setup. How much did the Handycam & the mini recorder cost? If the laptop does not have a thunderbolt port, is an USB to Thunderbolt adapter available. Please clarify.
Sorry for the late reply…. Yes you can do a outdoor streaming…but you will need a strong Internet connection…the handycam costed 70k plus the mini recorder costed 14k. Yes nowadays USB to thunderbolt adapters are available.
Ι just connected Sony AX53 as a webcam through OBS, but there isn't an option for 4K video on OBS, even though my Sony AX53 clearly can record in 4K. Is there anything I can do for it? I use it for videoconference calls, not for streaming.
You cannot get 4k output via HDMI from AX33 and AX53. It took me a while to figure this out. You can only get 1080p-60 max from the HDMI output. I know.... it's sad. Panasonic HC-X1500 looks like a better solution for me.

Hi is it possible to live stream over stream yard. I want to buy this camera but I am not sure if it’s will work for stream yard software which connect to my RUclips and Facebook account at the same time

Physical damage and liquid damage is not covered under warranty.
I have sony HDR-CX220 and when I use it for streaming (handycam on standby mode), it will auto off after about 10 minutes and I cannot find a way to disable this. So, i have to press the screen before 10 minutes. Is there a way to disable this? Thanks
Generally if you press the record button then the camera won’t go to standby mode.
For anyone who is running into the issue of the ax33 randomly shutting off or going into a "screensaver" type thing. Go into the setup menu, navigate to "general settings" and look for two options called "Power Save" and "Demo Mode". Turn off both of these settings and you should have smooth and uninterrupted cam footage for whatever stream you are doing. I tested this by leaving the camera alone and plugged into power for 20 minutes and came back to the exact same screen I left it on.
You just saved my month after searching for this for about half a year now! Kept reverting to the damn Sony logo !!!

I use sony ax43 camera and connec to OBS in standby mode. But every 4 minutes the camera automatically shift to demo mode (playing demo video). I think it because the camera stay in standby mode and can not change camera setting from standby mode. Can you help to solve this problem ?
